Team Foundations Day: Strengthening Teams for Success 

Overview 

Following an organisational restructure, I was tasked with designing an interactive team-building workshop to help the team reset, reconnect, and strengthen their foundations for the year ahead. This team development session provided a valuable opportunity to reinforce confidence, trust, and collaboration while equipping the team with practical tools to navigate challenges and work more effectively together. 

The Approach 

The afternoon was designed to be engaging, reflective, and action focused. We began with a warm-up to encourage self-reflection and purpose-setting, followed by activities that highlighted team strengths, values, and shared goals. A mix of discussion, interactive team exercises, and problem-solving challenges created a dynamic learning experience, ensuring each participant gained insights into their role within the team and the collective strengths they bring. 

Key themes explored included: 

  • Strength recognition and constructive feedback to build confidence and trust. 
  • Understanding team development stages and how to navigate them effectively. 
  • Focusing on areas of influence and control to enhance adaptability and prioritisation. 
  • Workplace collaboration training through interactive challenges to strengthen communication and problem-solving skills. 

Outcomes & Impact 

By the end of the session, the team left with a renewed sense of purpose and energy for the year ahead.  

A renewed understanding of the importance of giving and receiving feedback and pausing to acknowledge & consider their own internal feedback mechanisms. 

This high-performing teams workshop provided a powerful back to basics space for reflection and growth, setting the team up for a successful and productive year ahead.
