Towards the end of 2023 I started serving as a freelance consultant for the Brechfa Forest West Wind Farm Community Fund. A landmark £11 million initiative funded by RWE Renewables and administered independently by Antur Cymru.
This long-term investment supports sustainable development in rural Carmarthenshire, with a substantial grant pot, allocated annually, over the 25-year lifespan of the wind farm.

The Role of Consultant Support – My Day to Day
My consultancy work supports this vital mission by helping community groups and local organisations navigate the funding process and deliver high-impact projects. I bring a wealth of experience in:
- Community engagement and consultation
- Strategic project development
- Governance and capacity building
- Funding applications and project oversight
Practical Support, Strategic Guidance
Whether it’s facilitating early-stage conversations, strengthening funding applications, or advising on project delivery, I tailor my support to each organisation’s needs.
My approach is grounded in collaboration, transparency, and a deep understanding of how to align local priorities with the fund’s objectives.
I’ve contributed to the successful development and implementation of numerous projects that enhance local services, improve infrastructure, and strengthen community resilience.
I also help ensure that funded projects deliver long-term value, aligning with both community aspirations and sustainable development goals.
Building Resilient Communities in Rural Wales
My work with the Brechfa Forest West Wind Farm Community Fund reflects a broader commitment to community development, especially in rural and semi-rural areas.
By connecting local groups with funding opportunities and providing hands-on support, I help to unlock the potential of communities to thrive in a low-carbon future.
